Browser and System Requirements
Browser requirements and recommendations
The OCVE website is designed to support a broad range of current, popular web browsers and platforms. For best results we strongly recommend that you use an up-to-date version of your preferred web browser in order to get the best from the website. Newer web browsers offer better support for the standards used by the OCVE website and typically will improve the responsiveness and speed of the website.
The following web browsers are recommended, listed in order of preference:
Windows PC:
- Mozilla Firefox: version 3 or above (http://www.getfirefox.com)
- Microsoft Internet Explorer: version 7 or above (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/internet-explorer/default.aspx)

Browser plugins and functionality
Flash
The Adobe Flash plugin is required in order for the zoom and pan feature to work. Note that if you do not have Flash installed you will be unable to see any images.
Flash Player version 9 or above is required. It is freely available from the Adobe Flash Player homepage for computers running Windows and Linux and for Apple Macs. Follow the instructions on the Adobe website to install it if you need it: http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer.
JavaScript
In order to use the OCVE website your browser needs to have JavaScript enabled. If you experience any major functional problems with the website, first check that you are using a recommended browser in the list above; then check that JavaScript is enabled in your browser (consult your browser’s help documentation in order to find out how to do this).
System recommendations
The absolute minimum screen size for the OCVE website is 1024 x 768, also known as XGA. Almost all computer equipment running today will support this resolution other than small format devices such as Netbooks or other very small format laptops.
However, for best results we strongly recommend that you run the OCVE website on as large a screen as possible, and not on a laptop with a screen size of less than 15”. We also recommend a screen resolution of 1280 x 1024 or greater; a desktop screen of 19" or greater would therefore be ideal.
